Just One of Those Days

The sun is shining, the kids frolicked happily in the great outdoors, sand was tossed, bubbles were blown and all was well.
It is amazing how 6.5 hours of uninterrupted sleep can cleanse the soul. Yep, you read that right, 6.5 HOURS of uninterrupted sleep. After my bedtime rant last night, my darling baby Daisy and Miss Lily slept like angels. Daisy woke once at around 12:00am for some warm momma's milk and promptly went back to sleep. I was completely shocked and a little disoriented when my alarm went off. I can't even remember the last time I was in bed when my alarm went off. While Lily did sleep with us, as per usual, she slept like a rock. Or maybe I slept like a rock and didn't notice her, either way *sigh*, I am so rested. I obviously don't expect a repeat but I can still hope right?
It was an absolutely gorgeous Saskabush day. The sun was shining and instead of our usual gale force winds, a gentle breeze brushed our cheeks. The kids basically got along (as best as you can expect from 2-3 yr olds) and the day was a smooth as glass. I had a renewed sense of motivation and energy. Did I mention I got 6.5 hours of uninterrupted sleep? I got most of my housework done during nap, all except that damn vacuuming.  I curse at vacuuming. It is nearly impossible to get to. I can't do it when the kids are sleeping and it is hard to do when the kids are awake. My longing for a Roomba has been renewed. A Roomba, Kitchen Aid Mixer, and a pool boy. Okay, so I don't have a pool but who doesn't want a pool boy?
Of course with my renewed outlook on life (again - 6.5 hours of uninterrupted sleep) I had many "OMGosh I have the most adorable children in the entire world!!!!! Especially when the sleep" moments today while looking through pictures. Allow me to share.
So proud of herself - got dressed all by herself.  My rainbow

To top off my splendid day I went for a glorious run. I pounded out 30+ minutes of trail at Kiwanis park. I kept my breathing well in control and felt fantastic. I am stoked for Sunday's run!

  1. Isn't it funny how your life looks so much better and lovely when you get some good sleep. My hubby let me sleep in this morning and he has never looked sexier than today. :)
