Warm Days, Cool Nights

Fall is coming. I can feel it in the breeze, see it in the trees, and smell it in the air. I am surprisingly okay with it this year. Yes, I still have that nagging in the back of my mind, "winter is next", but I am pushing that aside. I am loving the warm days and the nice crisp evenings. I have pumpkins growing in my modest garden and I have started making delicious treats such as pumpkin muffins and zucchini loaf. I packed away most of Miss Daisy's summer clothes (she was starting to outgrow most of them anyway) and if that is not enough, Starbucks has brought out their Pumpkin Spice Latte. Nothing says Autumn like it.

Other signs of passing time - Miss Daisy turned the big ONE! It was a bittersweet day. My sweet baby is soon going to be no longer a baby. She is growing up and becoming her own little person. She is turning in to quite the little ham too. She is still not walking, but I am sure it is not due to inability as much as just plain stubbornness  She would much rather screech at me to pick her up. Little goober.
We had a little party here for her with friends and family. She lapped up the attention, she seemed to understand that it was her day and that everyone was there for her. She opened presents, smiled for cameras and bashed cake like a little birthday princess.

For another round of "my baby is growing up tears"; Miss Lily starts playschool on Thursday. She is so excited. I will admit that I am too. Pushing tears aside, I am excited to have her be part of a different social setting that does not include me and her environment. She needs this and I need the break. we spend a a lot of time with each. In turn, we spend a lot of time butting heads. She is a strong willed little girl and my patience has been thin the past couple months. We both need the break.

Anyway, time for a bubble bath.
