We are in nighttime H-E- double hockey sticks. Lily used to be such a great sleeper. She would pretty much put herself to bed much to our delight. For 1.5 years I would nod sympathetically while friends would yawn through their night time struggles, while I was bursting at the seams with delight and pride. I guess all the wood I knocked on must have been particle board. A series of events (and maybe a little karma) have turned my night time angel into a night time devil. I literally thought her head was going to start spinning in circles on Saturday. I've never witnessed a freak out to that extreme. There was screaming, hitting, kicking, rolling, running, and pure chaos. She would cry for me then scream at me to get out. Only daddy was finally able to calm her and even then he was not able to leave her room. She has taken to needing someone (actual C.only) sleeping with her. Her sleeps are restless and it takes a good 1-2 hours for the whole bedtime routine and laying beside her while she falls asleep. It's draining on us and Lily is not recharging the way her little body needs. I keep reminding myself that she is only 2 and repeating the mommy mantra "This too shall pass."
Otherwise we had a pretty good weekend. We had some friends over for cards and it was great to do adult things. Something we need to do more often as we seem to forget ourselves being so busy. We also took Lily to Dinobouncers for the first time. She loved it. Of course the giant slide was her favorite. "That's my very best mom". I have a video of her coming down the slide with C but we are having technical difficulties.
Daisy is becoming more and more active everyday. I
Well better sign off. I have a list as long as Santa's naughty list to complete.
